Learn Motorsports Welding With Lincoln Electric

If you’re willing to trek on over to Cleveland, Ohio, Lincoln Electric’s willing to teach you all they know about motorsports welding.

Lincoln Electric’s Motorsports Welding School is a 5-day program split into two categories:

Basic – this program is for those new to the program, even if you’re an experienced welder

Advanced – this program is for those that have already completed Lincoln’s Basic Motorsports Welding Program 

The Basic Program

In just five days, you’ll cover topics such as :

TIG Welding (GTAW)

  • Gas Selection
  • Polarity

MIG Welding (GMAW)

  • Pulse Welding
  • New Processes
  • Gas Selection

Alloy Class I & II

  • Basic Metallurgy
  • Metal Identification
  • Metal Classification
  • Stainless Alloy
  • Carbide Control
  • Poper Filler Metal – Base Metal Selection

The Advanced Program

The advanced Motorsports Welding Program is also about five days long. There, they get into detail about some of the topics above and introduce you to new aspects of motorsports welding such as:

TIG Welding (GTAW) Titanium

  • Fundamentals
  • Mechanical properties
  • Commercially pure vs. 6AL/4V

TIG Welding GTAW Magnesium

  • Mechanical properties
  • Carbide control
  • Grades AZ61A, AZ92S
  • Magnesium vs. aluminum

What's New / Skill Refinement

  • New Product Presentation
  • Open Lab Time

Program Dates 

Because only 12 students are accepted per class, you should pick a date that is convenient for you an register as soon as possible. They have dates set up even for 2011 classes, giving you plenty of time to get prepared.

The Cost and Enrollment

The basic and advanced programs are priced differently, with the advanced costing more, but either way non-members will pay more for the program.

BASIC – $575 for members / $755 for non-members (cost includes TIG Welding Kit)

ADVANCED – $800 for members / $980 for non-members (cost includes TIG Welding Kit

You’re automatically a member if you own any Lincoln welding equipment – simply enough. You can also become a member by joining their Motorsports program. The program is free and comes with no obligations.
