LISTED BELOW ARE SOME TYPICAL INGREDIENTS IN WELDING ELECTRODES AND THEIR TLV (ACGIH) GUIDELINES AND PEL (OSHA) EXPOSURE LIMITS
(*) Not listed. Nuisance value maximum is 10 milligrams per cubic meter. PEL value for iron oxide is 10 milligrams per cubic meter. TLV value for iron oxide is 5 milligrams per cubic meter. (**) As respirable dust. (*****) Subject to the reporting requirements of Sections 311, 312, and 313 of the Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act of 1986 and of 40CFR 370 and 372. (b) The PEL for chromium (VI) is .005 milligrams per cubic meter as an 8 hour time weighted average. The TLV for water-soluble chromium (VI) is 0.05 milligrams per cubic meter. The TLV for insoluble chromium (VI) is 0.01 milligrams per cubic meter. (c) Values are for manganese fume. STEL (Short Term Exposure Limit) is 3.0 milligrams per cubic meter. OSHA PEL is a ceiling value. (****) There is no listed value for insoluble barium compounds. The TLV for soluble barium compounds is 0.5 mg/m3. TLV and PEL values are as of April 2006.
