MIG welding gloves are available in a wide variety of options. MIG welding doesn’t produce as much heat as the TIG welding process, it still generates quite a lot of heat while requiring more dexterity.
When heat protection is a slightly higher priority, then a thick, yet pliable MIG welding glove with a thin lining will be ideal. In this case top-grain cowhide, pigskin, or deerskin MIG welding gloves are the best choices. Top-grain deerskin is both very comfortable and offers the added advantage of molding itself to your hand over time. Deerskin offers more flexibility but less protection from high currents than cowhide or pigskin when MIG welding. Cowhide is generally considered the toughest and least flexible material for MIG welding gloves.
